We’re obsessed with Carla Molinaro – and rightly so. If you saw her interview in Women’s Running mag in 2021, you’ll know that she throws herself into any ultra challenge that comes her way, from a record-breaking LEJOG effort to a secret ultra in Arizona with HOKA to launch their latest shoe.
Last weekend, she impressed us again with an incredible win at the IAU 50KM World Championships in Hyderabad, India. She crossed the finish line in 3 hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds, beating second place by well over 30 seconds. And if that wasn’t enough, the race course was a demanding 5KM loop. We’re not sure that our sanity could handle running the same loop ten times over, let alone our legs!
Carla was absolutely thrilled with her performance. “Yesterday’s race was an absolute dream. I knew it was going to be a touch day with the weather conditions, but I did everything that I could to get on that start line in the best shape possible,” she said after the race. “I couldn’t have done it without my coach, running crew and support of the amazing running community!”
