Conference realignment continues, as Arizona leaves the Pac-12 for the Big 12, and Washington—along with Oregon, which does not sponsor gymnastics—moves to the Big Ten.
The Arizona move is awaiting approval from the university’s Board of Regents, and no date for the move is set. BYU also recently joined the Big 12, just as Oklahoma is leaving for the SEC. For the 2024 gymnastics season, the Big 12 will include BYU, Denver, Iowa State, Oklahoma, and West Virginia, before Oklahoma leaves prior to the 2025 gymnastics season.
Arizona State and Utah are also rumored to be looking to leave the Pac-12.
Washington and Oregon will begin competing in the Big Ten in 2024. For gymnastics, that means the Huskies join the conference prior to the 2025 season. Washington joins UCLA in absconding from the Pac-12 for the Big Ten. The Bruins also begin competing in the conference in the 2025 gymnastics season.
This is a developing story, and we will update this post as more information becomes available.
