Iowa announced today that Jen Llewellyn will lead the Hawkeyes as the fifth coach in program history. The move comes as Washington is set to join the Big Ten starting with the 2025 season.
Llewellyn comes to Iowa after a three-year stint in Washington, where she led the Huskies to three straight NCAA regional appearances. Prior to her time in Washington, she was the first head coach of the former Lindenwood program and led the Lions to six MIC titles, three USAG national championships, and an NCAA regionals appearance.
Llewellyn’s hiring comes after the university placed former head coach Larissa Libby on administrative leave in March pending an investigation into the environment under her leadership. Libby resigned in May and the university signed a settlement as part of her resignation.
Jessa Hansen Parker, who was named interim head coach after Libby’s resignation, has since been moved back to assistant coach, according to on Iowa’s roster. She will likely join Llewellyn and Llewellyn’s husband, Cody, on the Iowa staff.
