Brazil cruises to Gold Cup final with 3-0 win over 10-player Mexico – Equalizer Soccer

Brazil, playing as one of four guest teams from South America in the 2024 Concacaf W Gold Cup, advanced to the tournament final on Wednesday with a 3-0 victory over Mexico. Brazil will play either Canada or the United States in Sunday’s final in San Diego.

Brazil played with an extra player for more than an hour in Wednesday’s semifinal after Mexico defender Nicolette Hernandez was sent off following a video review. Brazil midfielder Adriana opened the scoring in the 21st minute after confusion in the box among Mexico defenders.

Eight minutes later, Hernandez was sent off following a review at the monitor from center referee Tori Penso. Brazil added a second goal three minutes later when defender Antônia curled a left-footed effort into the lower corner from the top of the 18-yard box.

Yasmim made it 3-0 in favor of Brazil three minutes into the second half with a spectacular flick-on finish.
