Former world No. 4 Bianca Andreescu is now just one win away from winning her first title since the 2019 US Open after the Canadian defeated Dalma Galfi to reach the ‘s-Hertogenbosch final.
Andreescu, who is currently ranked at No. 228 in the world and playing just her second tournament since returning from a back injury at the French Open, ousted world No. 138 Galfi 6-4 6-2.
On Sunday, Andreescu will be playing against either No. 2 seed Liudmila Samsonova or third-seeded Ekaterina Alexandrova for the ‘s-Hertogenbosch title. For Andreescu, it will also be her first final in exactly two years – the Canadian tennis star lost to Caroline Garcia in the Bad Homburg final during the 2022 grass season.
If Andreescu wins the ‘s-Hertogenbosch title on Sunday, it will be a double delight for the Canadian, who is also set to celebrate her 24th birthday tomorrow.
