Bianca Andreescu has sent her support to Emma Raducanu as the Canadian knows well the negative side of fame. In 2019, Andreescu introduced herself to the tennis world in a stunning way as she won the US Open and two WTA 1000 titles just after turning 19.
After her big 2019 North American hard-court swing, Andreescu was tipped to continue doing big things but then injuries came and the enormous pressure and expectations started to also negatively impact the Canadian. Andreescu can certainly relate to 2021 US Open champion, Raducanu who hasn’t won any titles since her US Open win and has become one of the most criticized and scrutinized players in the world.
Andreescu comes to Raducanu’s defense
“Us tennis players at the beginning, we just play the sport because we love it.
We don’t necessarily want to become famous. Then you find out it’s all a part of it. It really sucks your energy. We’re all human at the end of the day,” Andreescu said on the No Challenges Remaining podcast.
