Just two and a half months after playing the last tournament of her tennis career at the US Open, former doubles WTA No.1 Barbora Strycova is showing us her growing pregnancy belly. The Czech athlete already knows that she’s carrying a boy!
Sharing a photo of herself dressed in a bikini and playing in the sand on the beach with her two-year-old son Vincent, Strycova announced the news of her second pregnancy:
Vincent is gonna be a big brother.
Given the fact that her baby bump is already visible, we can conclude that she was pregnant while she wrapped up her tennis career at the 2023 US Open. Her return to the tennis circuit had occurred at the 2023 Mutua Madrid Open, marking her first appearance since the 2021 Australian Open after embracing motherhood.
The 37-year-old Strycova’s final season in the sport ended at the Grand Slam in New York, where she faced a singles exit in the opening round. However, in doubles, she teamed up with Marketa Vondrousova, progressing to the third round before Vondrousova strategically withdrew from doubles play to conserve her energy and focus on her singles journey that led her to the quarterfinals.
