As the UConn women’s basketball team continues to get players back from injury, it continues to roll, winning 65-50 over Georgetown on Sunday.
But Azzi Fudd, who only recently returned from injury, appeared to reinjure her right knee. It was just her second game back after missing the previous eight following an injury to the same knee in December.
“She just tweaked something and they got some ice on it,” UConn coach Geno Auriemma told SNY after the game. “It didn’t sound serious at all.”
If Fudd is unable to go next game, it leaves UConn with just seven healthy players, which is the minimum required to play a game.
“If Azzi’s out any period of time, like if she doesn’t play Tuesday, then we’re right back to square one, right?” Auriemma said.
At any given point this season, UConn has yet to have a full, healthy roster. Both Paige Bueckers and Ice Brady are out for the season. Others, like Nika Muhl and Dorka Juhasz, have missed time.
Aaliyah Edwards, who also missed a few games with an injury, had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
