It’s been our tradition here at PrepVolleyball.com to express out gratitude for our readers, supporters, and contributors in honor of Thanksgiving, and allow our readers to do the same. The sport of volleyball has given all of us something to be thankful for, and this year is no different.

We are once again offering our readers the chance to tell us what they’re thankful for regarding the sport. If any of our readers, coaches, players, or parents would like to be featured, send a short email and photo (optional) to head writer Jimmy Pompeo (Jpompeo@prepvolleyball.com) explaining what about volleyball you’re thankful for the most and we will include it in this year’s Thanksgiving Day feature! You can also include a meaningful volleyball photo of you, your family, or your teammates, along with your statement. 

We will be accepting submissions until 12 p.m. EST, Tuesday, Nov 21. Be sure to include your NAME, HS TEAM/CLUB, and LOCATION.

Emerson Sellman, a 6-4 Outside Hitter from The Academy of the Holy Cross (Kensington, MD), and Metro Volleyball Club of DC, has signed with THE Ohio State University

Avery Jackson, a 5-10 Outside/Opposite Hitter from the Hockaday School (Dallas, TX) has signed for Stanford University

Zoë Humphrey, a 6-2 Middle Blocker/Outside Hitter from St. Pius X High School (Houston, TX) has signed with the University of California, Los Angeles

Award Season is here and with it comes the nomination period. Below, coaches, and ONLY coaches, will have the opportunity to nominate players for our various annual high school awards, including a new one for 2023, an All-Region Team.

Below you will find the links for nomination forms for our National and Regional Awards, including Fall Stars for The Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class, as well as our All-American, All-Region, National Player of The Year, and The Andi Collins Award.

The National Coach Of The Year and National Team Of The Year finalists will be selected by our writing staff, however those wishing to nominate a team or coach may email Jimmy Pompeo directly (Jpompeo@prepvolleyball.com) in support of a specific candidate. Please submit any nominations By 11/27/23.

The PrepVolleyball.com High School All-American Award selection is the pinnacle of high school volleyball awards, reserved for those players who have stood out and risen above the rest of the competition via statistical impact as well as team success on a national level.

November 8th 2023 kicks off the NCAA National Letter of Intent signing period, during which, student-athletes classified in the Class of 2024 will have their first opportunities to turn their verbal pledge status into official commitments. As we have in the past, we’re looking forward to helping celebrate this special time for so many of the exceptional athletes we have the privilege of providing media coverage for throughout their club/juniors careers.

On Wednesday and Thursday November 8th and 9th, we’ll begin rolling out NLI signing celebrations, and announcing official commitments as the news breaks and comes in. We welcome one and all to join in the fun, and submit your signing day festivities for us to share with the PrepVolleyball community.

Share with us your story, how you came to make the commitment decision you did, your recruitment experience, etc. and your quotes may be featured in our rolling updates as well as social media posts. Tag us on X (Twitter) and Instagram in your posts as well!
