We are delighted to bring our She’s Electric experience to the world’s no. 1 home energy and electric vehicle show this year at the Everything Electric London. To reach their audience with our message and campaign is a huge boost toward our goal to reach 1 million women in 2024.

We will have a range of electric bikes, from front-loading family Cargo bikes from CaGo (pictured founder of Also Bike Sophie Browne with her CaGo Bike and two children) to longtail compact cargo bikes and smaller folding models. All e-bikes have been selected to feel comfortable and practical for women to use in their everyday lives.

Women will be able to test-out e-bikes on the micromobilty Demo track – run by Electroheads –  and we will be running women only hours 3-4pm each day.

Our She’s Electric team will be on hand to give guidance, advice and hands-on support to women wanting to get started on an electric bike. We will have child seats and helmets to ensure it’s a safe, enjoyable family- friendly experience.

We will also have the She’s Electric Boutique on site, a chance for women to browse and try a selection of stylish clothes and accessories that can help them cycle in style and get away from the ‘middle-aged man in Lycra’ cycling…

Dear Customers & Supporters,

I started Cyclechic.co.uk in 2008 on a mission to make cycling stylish and get more women on bikes.

It’s been an amazing 15 years, but now it’s time to make a change…

As of January 2024, we will become part of Loud Mobility Ltd, and I will join Founder Georgia Yexley as Director of Community & Culture. Our mission being to make sustainable journeys more joyful and more accessible for all.

The existing retail operation, Cyclechic.co.uk, will cease trading, as you know it, on 31 January, 2024 (last date for accepting returns 28th Feb) as our new mission and focus takes hold.

This has not been an easy decision, but it feels like 100% the right move to continue Cyclechic’s mission into the future.

I am immensely proud of everything we have achieved through Cyclechic, changing perceptions of cycling and inviting more women in, and I want to THANK YOU – our amazing Cyclechic customers!

From the first women who came to my flat in Chiswick to ditch their old helmet for an altogether more stylish option, to the fantastic women who have been part of our She’s Electric campaign this year, and everyone in between, I have so highly valued the conversations, the love, support and loyalty you…

Georgia and I met on international Women’s Day 2023. We hit it off straight away with a shared mission to enable more people to cycle, particularly opening the doors to more women.

We’ve been at the drawing board the past few months, and I’m excited to announce that Georgia and I will be working together on growing She’s Electric to a much bigger, LOUDER campaign for 2024! More updates on that very soon, but in the meantime I am delighted to introduce Georgia as one of our She’s Electric Role Models, reviewing the gorgeous Volt LS eBike.

Read about Georgia putting it through its paces, literally cross-country, taking it up to Scotland for the UCI Cycling World Championships. And rather wonderfully, closer to home, inspiring others to have a go, capturing the very essence of She’s Electric. Over to you, Georgia…

Loch-Hopping on a Volt Metro LS

I’ve been working in sustainable transport and micromobility internationally for the past six years. Recently, I took the leap to leave the fast growth and full-on world of tech-enabled sharing services and set about applying my experience to building an organisation focused on widening participation, Loud Mobility. Through this, I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with Cyclechic’s founder,…

We are super excited and priviledged to welcome Maria Bousted, Founder of Po Campo Bags to our She’s Electric Campaign. Maria and I met early on when we were both starting out with our businesses and I’ve been a big fan ever since. Maria is a strong cycling advocate, a talented business woman and designer and now an e-bike convert… Hurrah! Over to you Maria.

Tell us a bit about yourself?
I’m the Founder and CEO of Po Campo and we make bags that help you carry what you need on and off your bike with style and ease. I started the company when I couldn’t find a bag versatile enough to use on my bike commutes and then carry with me throughout the day. As an industrial designer, I knew I could create a better bag for me and all the people like me who were looking for gear to help them integrate biking into their daily lives. I currently live in New York City where I ride almost daily for transportation and for leisure.

What e-bike do you ride?
I ride a Gazelle Medeo T9

How did you get started on an e-bike and what was the experience like?
I bought my e-bike in mid 2020. We had moved from Brooklyn to Upper Manhattan, about 16 miles away, right before the pandemic. I didn’t feel comfortable with taking the subway to my studio and biking roundtrip…

The fourth Role Model in our She’s Electric campaign is Rebecca Crowder!

Tell us a bit about yourself?

My name is Rebecca and I live in a rural village just a 15 minutes drive away from the beautiful city of Bath in the South West of England. I have two young energetic children,  both boys, the oldest is at school and the youngest is currently at pre-school.

I love spending time outdoors, and do a lot of hill walking, (we live in a very hilly area so any walk will consist of hills!) cycling and gardening. I am a product designer by profession, and own my own product design business called Blue Dots Design which  specialises in designing products for the cycling and outdoor adventure sports industries. I really love my job, and I consider myself very fortunate to collaborate with well known global brands on their projects.

What e-bike do you ride?

I ride a Tabasco red Tern GSD, which is an electric cargo bike. I have a front rack which I use for bags/coats/drinks/snacks etc etc, two rear seats and safety rails as my particular set up. I did use a Thule Yepp seat for a year before my youngest son outgrew it.

How did you get started on an e-bike and what was the experience like?

I actually started off being given…

As part of our She’s electric campaign the wonderful Vicky Balfour of Vicky Bikes is reviewing the Tern NDB electric bike. The Tern NDB has an ultra low step through making it really easy to get on and off and a low centre of gravity to make for a safe, comfortable and stable ride.

We are honoured to have Vicky reviewing the Tern NBD e-bike for us, Vicky is a true trailblazer in the bike industry, bringing her flagship course Mindful Mechanics, to a very male dominated sector. Vicky not only teaches bike mechanics and presents at high profile events but also writes about cycling. Vicky brings such a fresh and unique take on bike mechanics crossing over with mental wellbeing, empowerment and adventure and when she is not in the workshop,  she is out on her mountain bike either on her own or with her beautiful family! How does it look?
Reminiscent of other cargo bikes but visually shorter, this is an attractive bike which makes you want to choose it over taking the car.

How does it feel to ride?

Fun and planted are the two words that come to mind when describing riding the Tern NBD. It’s a joy to navigate round town and the low centre of gravity combined with super-low step through makes it easy in traffic and when…

We are absolutely delighted to have the AMAZING Cargo Bike Momma, from NYC, reviewing the Urban Arrow Family Cargo Bike for us as part of our She’s Electric campaign, over to you Maddy…

The bike I’m reviewing today is the Urban Arrow Family Cargo Bike. I’ve owned this bike since 2019 and have used it almost daily ever since. The Urban Arrow was actually an impulse buy after returning from a month in The Netherlands. Prior to owning my Urban Arrow, I did not ride bikes of any kind – and actually never even considered biking in NYC. I thought it was crazy, scary, and only for seasoned riders, which I was not (I didn’t learn to ride a bike until I was a teenager and rarely rode over the course of my life). However, after spending the summer in Amsterdam, I quickly realized how biking could make my life in NYC so much more efficient – especially since I’m a full-time working mom of three kids (aged 9, 5, and 2). At first, I was nervous biking around the city given my lack of cycling experience and my petite stature (117lbs (53KG) and 5FT (152CM)). However, once I realized how much time I saved and that my kids loved it, I was hooked.

How does it look?

It looks like a rectangular box on two wheels. It has a large, imposing presence on the…

Why I think the Tern Quick Haul is a work of art.

Having spent the last 15 years seeking out products that work for the female urban cycle market, this bike feels like the golden ticket: a bike that truly speaks women, with ease and everyday mobility at its core. And it looks great too!

Whilst we don’t ordinarily sell bikes, we have made an exception with the Quick Haul, and if you like what you see, you can order order one from us. Tern Quick Haul P9 in Olive Green and The Tern Quick Haul P9 in Merlot or get in touch to book a test-ride sales@cyclechic.co.uk

How does it look?

The slightly smaller size than the Tern GSD (and the slightly smaller price tag) has immediate appeal. I instantly knew I could fit this bike into my life, and I would be proud to be riding it. It’s stylish without feeling flashy.  A vehicle not a toy. The wheels are smaller than a regular bike at 20 inches. The frame sits lower, and it has a much less masculine feel than other electric cargo bikes on the market. And did I mention the colours? Just the right shade of earthy olive green, and it also comes in similarly tasteful merlot.

Bright idea

The Tern Quick Haul P9 has built-in lights that come alive when you switch the e-system on. This is a game-changer for…
