The bronze medal game in women’s basketball is here.
Australia will face Belgium for third place after the Opals went down to Team USA 85-64 in the semis, while France got the best of Belgium 81-75 in their semi-final.
Led by Emma Meesseman — the tournament’s leading scorer (23.4 points per game) — Belgium is looking for their first-ever medal in women’s basketball in just their second appearance at the Olympics.
Meanwhile, for the Opals, this is their first trip back to the medal rounds since London 2012, where they also won bronze. Prior to that, the Aussies won three straight silver medals and a bronze in 1996.
Will Belgium break through? Or will the Aussies claim another medal?
