Aussies qualify for 2019 Worlds – More Sport – The Women’s Game

Date:

After Australia’s qualification day, Commonwealth Games silver medalist Georgia-Rose Brown said the despite mistakes in routines, they performed well overall.

“We made few mistakes that we need to improve on, but we are one team and overall we had a good time out there,” she said.

The 23-year-old is one of the most experienced members in her team having made her third World Championship team.

“There is a little bit pressure when you are the most experienced in the team,” Brown said.

“I have done it few more times than them. It gets you a little bit, but it is alright. I just share my experiences from previous events and guide them through,” she said.

Australia’s female gymnast were unable to qualify for any individual finals this week but their 15th place finish saw them secure a spot to compete as a team at the 2019 World Championships.

From the 2019 event, the top nine teams will join the three-team medalist from the 2018 World Championships in the Team competition at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
