At OL Reign, Scott Parkinson finds his confidence again – Equalizer Soccer

Scott Parkinson is back. After departing NJ/NY Gotham FC in the middle of the 2022 season following a disappointing string of losses, the former head coach has taken on a new assistant coaching position with OL Reign, and he couldn’t be happier. 

“I feel so free and so energized, and I feel really confident,” Parkinson told The Equalizer. “After last year, you never really know when you’re going to get that confidence back. OL Reign, the players, and Laura [Harvey] they’ve made me feel like I deserve to be here and they want me here. I feel super lucky.”

Harvey and Parkinson are certainly no strangers. The pair previously coached together for the Utah Royals from 2018 to 2020, and Parkinson is thrilled to reunite. “It’s the best feeling ever without any exaggeration,” he said. “I would be lying if I said last year wasn’t tough. I had a lot of options this year, and I think the opportunity to be with someone who will support me, be there with me, and be together on…
