Aryna Sabalenka, 25, called Caroline Wozniacki’s post-pregnancy comeback to tennis “amazing” and admitted it is giving her belief that one day she could also have a child and then make a successful return. Wozniacki, 33, retired from pro tennis after the 2020 Australian Open and then welcomed two kids – the first in 2021 and the second in 2022 October.
Last month, Wozniacki made a return to pro tennis after two and a half years in Montreal. At this year’s US Open – in her first Grand Slam since returning – Wozniacki impressively made the round-of-16 as a wildcard. “Yeah, I think that’s amazing.
That’s just something amazing. She was out for three-and-a-half years, having two kids, and came back in tennis and still play her best. I feel like if you have this level you will never lose it, it feels like when you watch them.
It gives so much belief to me if one day I would like to go for baby I’ll have some chances to come back. So thank you for that (smiling). And, yeah, just such an inspiration. I’m really happy for her,” Sabalenka said of Wozniacki’s return to tennis.
