Aryna Sabalenka shares how she got ‘rid of boring stuff’ and what was turning point

Aryna Sabalenka shared an interesting secret to her success over the last two years as the 26-year-old Belarusian says the turning point for her was “getting rid of boring stuff” and “deciding to have fun.”

Since 2023 January, Sabalenka has been to three Grand Slam finals – has won her first two Majors – and she also reached the world No. 1 ranking for the first time in her career last September. 

But before all of this happened for Sabalenka, the Belarusian was going through one of the roughest and most challenging periods of her career in 2022. Back then, it was becoming evident that some of the previous losses in the Slam semifinals got to the Belarusian and that it impacted her on the mental level – which led to doubts creeping into her mind. 

But since then, the now two-time Grand Slam champion has been able to completely turn around the situation as she has been looking pretty happy and joyful on the court for the past 20 months. 

After beating former world No. 3 Elina Svitolina 7-5 6-2 in the Cincinnati round-of-16, the on-court interviewer asked the 26-year-old to share her key to happiness and success on the court.
