Aryna Sabalenka updated her fans on Instagram, confirming that she went out for a drink after losing the US Open final. On Saturday, new world No 1 Sabalenka suffered a three-set loss to Coco Gauff in the US Open final. Sabalenka, who was the second-seeded player, made a really strong start to the final but Gauff stormed back to win 2-6 6-3 6-2.
After suffering a heartbreaking loss, Sabalenka said she definitely needed a drink after what happened. “Yes! I did have a drink last night (laughing emoji)” Sabalenka captioned her Instagram Story.

Sabalenka appeared to have everything in her control as she easily won the first set and then had two consecutive break points in the first game of the second set – she didn’t convert those opportunities.
