Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek confirmed to start clay season in their familiar event

Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek and Jasmine Paolini have all signed up to start their clay seasons in Stuttgart.

The Belarusian, who is currently ranked at No. 1 in the world, will make her fifth appearance at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix. 

In the past, the 26-year-old had a couple of deep runs at the tournament but twice finished as runner-up to Swiatek in the final and also lost to Ashleigh Barty in the 2021 final.

On the other side, the Pole won back-to-back Stuttgart titles in 2022 and 2023 before Elena Rybakina ruined her three-peat plans in the semifinal stage last year.

Meanwhile, Paolini is set to compete at the tournament for only the second time in her career.

Last year, the world No. 4 reached the quarterfinal stage in her Porsche Tennis Grand Prix debut before falling short to Rybakina.

Sabalenka, Swiatek & Paolini statements on playing Stuttgart

The Belarusian may have lost three finals at the tournament but it remains one of her favorite clay spots.

“I am excited to play the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix 2025 in Stuttgart and hope to see many spectators,” the world No. 1 said.

To no one’s surprise, Swiatek – who owns a 10-1 record in Stuttgart – is very excited about returning to the tournament once again.
