World No 2 Aryna Sabalenka thinks Ashleigh Barty will enjoy success once again if she does decide to return to tennis. Barty, a former three-time Grand Slam champion, shockingly retired from pro tennis at the age of 25 in 2022 March.
At the time of her retirement announcement, Barty was ranked at No 1 in the world and coming off an Australian Open triumph. This week, 27-year-old Barty announced that she gave birth to her first child. Last week, Caroline Wozniacki announced she decided to return to tennis after welcoming two kids and fulfilling her family goals.
Sabalenka on Barty’s potential comeback
“I definitely think she has everything to come back. She’s very talented. I feel like she already made it once. I think if she’s going to decide to come back playing tennis, she’s going to do well,” Sabalenka said of Barty, via Chris Oddo.
