The fight of Aryna Sabalenka continues for the conquest of the second Grand Slam and the primacy in the WTA ranking. The Belarusian, in the second round of the Roland Garros 2023, defeated Iryna Shymanovich in straight sets, gaining access to the second round of the tournament.
Caroline Garcia’s negative period did not find her epilogue in Paris. The home player suffered another bitter elimination. Anna Blinkova was cooler than Garcia in the deciding set. Daria Kasatkina reached the third round at the Roland Garros beating 6-3 6-4 Marketa Vondrousova, finalist in Paris in 2019.
