Aryna Sabalenka admits she is “not sure” if she would be a good coach for Iga Swiatek but did mention that she could possibly help the Pole in the mental department.
In case you missed iT, the five-time Grand Slam champion named the Belarusian as the rival she’d be open to hiring one day as a coach.
After Novak Djokovic hired Andy Murray in the offseason, that prompted Reem Abulleil to ask various WTA stars if they would be open to doing something similar one day.
And Swiatek’s answer is one that drew the most attention because she named none other than Sabalenka.
“Petkovic is not playing anymore but I heard she has a really great eye and I always liked her and I think we would get along,” the 23-year-old said.
“I don’t know… Maybe Aryna. She is older than me so she is going to finish earlier and that would be funny.”

“Iga said that you would be a good tennis coach, what do you think about?” one of the questions that she received read.
“I’m not sure about that. Probably because of my crazy experience I could help with the mental part of the game…But once again… I’m not sure about that,” the Belarusian answered.
