Arsenal Women have confirmed an extra home game will be played at Emirates Stadium this season.
The game in question is their penultimate match of the season against Leicester City which is currently set to be played on April 21, but could change due to broadcast selections.
Arsenal initially planned for five Women’s Super League games to be played at Emirates Stadium alongside their home Champions League matches, but failed to reached the group stages of Europe’s elite competition.
Their presence at Emirates Stadium has been promising even without Champions League football, setting two WSL attendance records in 2023. The first came on the opening day of the season when 54,115 supporters saw them lose 1-0 to Liverpool. The next came in December, with 59,042 witnessing their 4-1 thrashing of Chelsea.
Arsenal’s home matches are traditionally held at Meadow Park, home of National League side Boreham Wood, but they have gradually increased the number of WSL fixtures held at the Emirates season on season.
