Arsenal midfielder Lia Walti will be out for several weeks with a knee injury.
Walti, 30, started the 3-1 defeat by Chelsea on March 15, playing 72 minutes before being replaced by Kyra Cooney-Cross.
Walti then missed the 3-1 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, with Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall appearing unsure if she will return before the end of the season.
“She suffered a minor knee injury in training this week so she will be out for several weeks,” Eidevall said. “What several weeks means in relation to the season, I don’t know yet.
“We need to let this go a couple of weeks then we will have a much better picture and we can see if she will be available for the last games of the season. But it is a minor knee injury and that is important to say.”
Walti has been a key member of Arsenal’s squad this season, appearing in 15 of the north London’s side 17 Women’s Super League games this season, providing three assists. Arsenal have six fixtures remaining this season, with five games in the WSL coming after Sunday’s Conti Cup final against league leaders Chelsea.
Walti joined Arsenal from Turbine Potsdam in 2018 and signed a new contract with the club in May 2023.
