COMPETITION INSIGHTS
World Championships of Kazan, winning an outstanding 49% of the total medals (pool and open water swimming combined, 73 medals in total: 25 gold, 25 silver and 24 bronze).
58% of individual golds (23 out of 40) went to swimmers wearing a POWERSKIN Carbon-Flex or Carbon-Air suit. Arena Champions further contributed to the fantastic showcase in Kazan by establishing 5 World Records, 4 European Records, 2 Championships record and 3 World junior Championships record.
On the final night of competition, Bronte Campbell led a clean sweep in the 50m freestyle and Katinka Hosszú successfully defended her title in the 400m individual medley.
Gregorio Paltrinieri won the 1500m freestyle, while Daiya Seto held off all his challengers to repeat his victory in the 400m individual medley from Barcelona two years ago.
Bronte Campbell, of Australia, had already won the 100m freestyle with sister Cate, the defending champion, in third. Tonight the younger sister again triumphed in the one-length splash and dash, winning in 24.12 ahead of Ranomi Kromowidjojo of the Netherlands and Sarah Sjöström of Sweden.
