Anna Kurnikova was named one of People magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People in 1998, 2000, 2002, and 2003 and she was voted the most super sensual female athlete on ESPN.com. In 2002 she topped the list of FHM magazine’s 100 Sensual Women in the US and UK editions.
She became famous thanks to her reaching the semifinal at the 1997 Wimbledon Championships at the age of 16. Despite not having won any singles titles, in November 2000 she reached the 8th position of the WTA rankings. Instead, she was an excellent doubles player, winning 16 WTA titles including two Grand Slam tournaments, the Australian Open 1999 and 2002, and two year-end Masters.
She also topped the doubles rankings in November 1999. Due to her frequent injuries, she was forced to retire in 2003 at the age of 22. She has also worked successfully as a model, starting photo shoots at 16 when she made her debut at the US Open.
