Angel Reese posts historic stat line as LSU remains undefeated

Angel Reese continues to have a standout season for LSU. For her latest feat, she set an SEC and LSU women’s basketball rebounding record.

Her 28 rebounds in the No. 7 Tigers’ 74-34 win against Texas A&M are the most of any SEC player since the conference started sponsoring women’s basketball in 1979-80. The mark also broke a program record that had stood since 1978, when Maree Jackson recorded 27 rebounds for LSU.

The star transfer also had 26 points in Thursday’s win, which moved the team to 15-0, tied for the best start in program history.

“I have a good eye for the ball,” Reese said. “I feel like once the ball goes up, I know exactly where it’s going to drop.”

Not only did Reese claim rebounding records, she set another SEC record with her 15th consecutive double-double to start the season. She is also the lone SEC player over the last 20 seasons to record at least 25 points and 25 rebounds in a game, per ESPN.

Since transferring to LSU from Maryland in the offseason, Reese has taken her game to a new level.
