More than a year after her retirement, the former Estonian tennis player Anett Kontaveit shared wonderful news with her followers, revealing that she has become a mother to little Leon Enzo Lepistu.
In a post on Instagram, she wrote: “First week with our Leon Enzo Lepistu. So much love.”

Kontaveit retired after Wimbledon 2023. Last year, the Estonian tennis player wanted to communicate her painful decision via social media, which came after a long ordeal dictated by physical problems. The native of Tallinn has won six WTA titles in her career out of fifteen finals played.
Her best result in Grand Slam tournaments is a quarterfinal at the 2020 Australian Open. For her country, which does not have a great tennis tradition, Anett was certainly the leading figure, having achieved several career records, first of all the 2nd position in the WTA ranking, in June 2022.
She was also the first tennis player from her country to qualify for the WTA Finals, reaching the final at the same time. Her last year, with the intensification of the back problem, was lean in results and led her to make this tough decision, at just 27 years old.
