Women’s college basketball teams all around the country are now turning their attention to conference tournaments in hopes of securing a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The American Athletic Conference (AAC) will hold its women’s basketball tournament starting Saturday. All 13 teams from the conference will head to the Super Pit in Denton, Texas, and Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, in hopes of being named the AAC tournament champion.
Slotted as the top seed is UTSA, who finished the regular season at 26-3 overall and 17-1 in the conference. The Roadrunners also enter the tournament on a nine-game win streak. UTSA will face the winner of No. 9 Rice vs No. 8 UAB on Monday.
UNT, USF and Temple round out the rest of the top 4 seeds.
