Amanda Anisimova, one of the most talented players born in the early 2000s, is taking an indefinite break from tennis. The American announced the news in May, struggling with her mental health and burnout since the summer of 2022.
Amanda claimed the 2017 US Open junior crown and reached the last four at Roland Garros two years later, becoming the youngest player in a Major semi-final since 2006! Anisimova claimed two WTA titles in 2019 and 2022. Failing to improve her mental health after a tough start to the season, Amanda decided to take a break from tennis, hoping to return once she feels better.
