A’ja Wilson stats, awards: Aces star named 2023 WNBA Finals MVP

Date:

It’s another award for A’ja Wilson’s stacked trophy case. She’s already well on her way to becoming one of the best basketball players ever, but another trophy can’t hurt.

The Aces star earned 2023 WNBA Finals MVP after leading her team to back-to-back titles. She finished Game 4 against the Liberty with 24 points despite going 11-21 from the field. She added 16 rebounds, a block and a steal for her sixth double-double of the postseason. Her block puts her fourth on the league’s all-time postseason block list.

To much surprise, she finished third in regular season MVP voting this year after taking home the award last season. Another WNBA Championship probably makes up for it, though. The Aces won their second straight league title, the first team to accomplish such since 2002.
