Caroline Garcia revealed her “mind was going crazy” after losing the Monterrey final as she was “afraid to go to sleep.” On Sunday, top-seeded Garcia was outlasted by third-seeded Donna Vekic in the Monterrey final as the Croatian edged out the Frenchwoman 6-4 3-6 7-5.
“Runner up in Monterrey @abiertognpseguros. This week was an inspirational week on and off court. Really enjoyed every minute of it. Loved the Mexican positives vibes,” Garcia wrote on her Instagram shortly after losing in the Monterrey final.
But a few hours later, Garcia shared another message through her Instagram Story. “Terribly tired, physically and mentally, leaving to the airport in 6h but I can’t fall asleep, I am ‘afraid’ to go to sleep. My mind is going crazy.
Every time I switch off the lights and put my head on the pillow, I can rewatch my match – that serve catching the lines on break point or that easy forehand missed or that bad choice. Tennis can drive you crazy a little bit,” Garcia wrote on her Instagram Story.
