The Aces traded forward Dearica Hamby and a 2024 first-round pick to the Sparks in exchange for exclusive negotiating rights to Amanda Zahui B. and Los Angeles’ 2024 second-round pick Saturday. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Hamby averaged 9.3 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists during the regular season last year.
  • The eight-year veteran is a two-time All-Star (2021, 2022) and won her first WNBA Championship with Las Vegas last season.

Backstory 

Hamby has played in 242 total WNBA games since being selected in the first round of the 2015 draft by the San Antonio Stars. She holds career averages of 9.2 points, 5.6 rebounds and 1.4 assists and was named the WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year in 2019 and 2020.

Zahui B. has averaged  6.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 0.7 assists over 197 WNBA games while playing with the Tulsa Shock, New York Liberty and Los Angeles.
