The 20th WNBA All-Star Game will be a matchup of the All-Stars on the U.S. women’s national team vs. the remaining league All-Stars, the WNBA announced Wednesday.
It is scheduled for July 20 at 8:30 p.m. ET (ABC) at Footprint Center in Phoenix.
The 2021 All-Star Game also pitted Team USA vs. Team WNBA, with Team WNBA winning 93-85 in Las Vegas before the Tokyo Olympics. This year, the game is the weekend before the start of the Paris Olympics, which run July 26-Aug. 11. The WNBA regular season goes on a break July 18 and resumes Aug. 15. Team USA will be going for its eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal in women’s basketball, a streak that began in 1996.
There also will be a 3-point shooting contest and skills challenge on All-Star Weekend, which will be held July 19 at 9 p.m. ET (ESPN) at the Footprint Center. The New York Liberty‘s Sabrina Ionescu won the 3-point shooting contest last year in Las Vegas with a record score of 37 points, while the Las Vegas Aces‘ Chelsea Gray and Kelsey Plum teamed to win the skills challenge.
