2024 Olympics: USA Gymnastics says that court won’t reconsider ruling on Jordan Chiles’ bronze medal case

USA Gymnastics announced that the Court of Arbitration for Sport isn’t going to reconsider its ruling in the scoring in the women’s floor exercise competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics. As a result of a scoring inquiry, United States gymnast Jordan Chiles was stripped of her bronze medal.

Previously, USA Gymnastics revealed that they have video evidence that the scoring inquiry was made inside of the allowed time. The CAS stated that the inquiry was submitted four seconds beyond the one-minute deadline.

USA Gymnastics announced on social media that it was told that CAS rules “do not allow for an arbitral award to be reconsidered even when conclusive new evidence is presented.”

“We are deeply disappointed by the notification and will continue to pursue every possible avenue and appeal process, including to the Swiss Federal Tribunal, to ensure the just score, placement and medal award for Jordan,” USA Gymnastics added.
