2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson odds, predictions, best prop picks for this week’s PGA Tour event

The PGA Tour now takes a little breather after three straight weeks of high-profile events.

Three weeks ago we had the year’s first major, the Masters, the first of three straight limited field tournaments. Now, it’s back to a full-field event as 156 players will be gunning for the first-place paycheck of $1.71 million in the newly renamed CJ Cup Byron Nelson. The purse is a healthy $9.5 million.

The 2024 tournament, formerly called the AT&T Byron Nelson, is a return to Texas for the Tour as the event will be held at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, TX, just outside of Dallas.

Jason Day carded a final-round 63 to win the 2023 event, picking up his first victory in more than five years.

Following the three-week stretch where most of the big names teed it up, this week’s field sees a drop in talent as just 10 of the world’s top 50 are entered.

And that includes just one top-20 player: Jordan Spieth at No. 20.

That’s going to open up opportunities for players looking to make their mark on the Tour to get into an event.

And there’s more good news for this week’s field: Scottie Scheffler, who has won four wins and a second-place finish in the past six weeks, isn’t playing.
