The USTA and U.S. Billie Jean King Cup captain Lindsay Davenport have announced the lineup for the 2024 Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge qualifying competition against Belgium. The team representing the USA will include Jessica Pegula, Madison Keys, Emma Navarro, Caroline Dolehide, and Taylor Townsend. The competition will take place on April 12-13 at the USTA National Campus in Lake Nona, Fla.
The Billie Jean King Cup, known as the ‘World Cup of Tennis,’ features over 100 nations competing annually. The qualifying competition is one of eight held worldwide in April, with the winners advancing to the 12-nation Billie Jean King Cup Finals this fall in Seville, Spain. The United States leads all nations in all-time titles, with 18 wins.
The qualifier will be a best-of-five match series played on an outdoor hard court. It will begin on Friday, April 12, with two singles matches starting at 6 p.m. The event will continue on Saturday, April 13, with two reverse singles matches and a doubles match starting at 2 p.m. There is a possibility of an amended schedule on Saturday if one nation clinches victory early.
