The SheBelieves Cup continued this weekend in Glendale, Arizona, with a crowd that broke a state record for women’s soccer. We saw some new faces and were reminded why some of our favorites are, well, our favorites. While the USWNT took on Australia, Colombia and Japan went head to head. Let’s review these SheBelieves Cup games and talk about some standout players.
Giselle Thompson (USWNT)
The newly called-up Giselle Thompson really showed up for the USWNT this SheBelieves Cup. She was quick on the ball, stuck to her mark, always found the pass, and covered when she needed to. The defensive line was lucky to have her.
Steph Catley (Australia)
Steph Catley for Australia was exactly what you want to see in a defensive player. She shut down tons of opportunities in the Matilda’s match against the USWNT. Without Catley, the goal differential would have been much higher.
Lynn Biyendolo (USWNT)
